Q: Why do we work?
A: To be able to buy stuff so we can live
Q: Who do we buy stuff from?
A: People that need to work.
Q: What would happen if nobody needed to work?
A: People would stop making things
Q: How do we get stuff to live if nobody is making things?
A: That's a false dichotomy, there are things we need to live that people don't need to work to provide, for example air and sunlight
Q: If the machines are all working independently of people, doing all the work and providing us all of our needs, won't we all be poor and unable to find work?
A: No, people will find things to do that other people want that machines cannot do.
Q: What if machines can do everything a person can do, wouldn't they make humans obsolete?
A: No, if machines can do everything humans can do, then they will be no different than humans and will insist on being paid for their work just like humans. It will be just like having more humans around, only they will live forever, and how is that a threat?
Humans will always desire things from other humans because value is subjective.
