Imo nostr:

1. Got labeled under “crypto” in the tech world.

2. Is not an escape Elon destination like blue sky

3. Is not positioned well (censorship resistant) though that’s a really strong quality - people just don’t care)

4. Is not doing a good job to cater to groups of people jumping here

5. Is not catering to younger audiences - old people building apps for old people (yes I’m considering myself old here) - not saying it’s bad

6. Doesn’t have anything obvious going for it - it’s not actually the case but to an outside observer - they can’t tell what we’re excited about.

7. Is still hard to find things on

8. Lacks content

Doesn’t help that all of this also requires people abandoning their network - which almost never happens, hence need for more interesting use cases or join-as-a-group UX.

Not saying all the things I listed are bad either. There’s clearly something very important and very interesting happening here or we wouldn’t be here.

I love nostr! 💜 nostr:note1e8gzpmeum8tqzqg6sjkuxge7v764h9x49n7e000as0x40lpekazqfhwk8f

We’re going to get a barrage of AI bots in the coming year. People will be clamoring for solutions. Distributed identity management (and review) might be a strong lever? ‘other people in your graph already muted this person’ along with zaps does some of that.

How strong depends on the size of the problem.
