Very interesting Mike. And your summary of their main, second and third jobs also applies to most people in the corporate world I would say. The number of pen-pushing middle-management imbeciles that earn more than politicians is embarrassing. I still think a hefty pay rise is in order for them to improve the quality of MPs but the people would never allow it.

Many people share your opinion about a pay rise. I am undecided.

The WEF penetrating cabinets with their "young global leaders" is part of the problem. They get handsomely rewarded for their work. Failing upwards is one of the perks.

The good ones, are paid a pittance, considering the number of hours they work. No wonder they’re all trying to maximise expenses/second flats etc
