Mount Ruang erupted on Tuesday, April 30 2024, at 08:35 WITA Central Indonesia Time (UTC+08)

The height of the eruption column was observed to be ± 5000 m above the peak (± 5725 m above sea level). The ash column was observed to be gray to black in color with thick intensity towards the east and south.

Ruang is the southernmost stratovolcano in the Sangihe Islands arc, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
