I boot it up about every three months just to see if it works on any of my hardware ootb yet.

As of last week, still no.

One day, one day it will work 😂

I’m seriously considering buying from System76 next time just to short circuit this cycle. 😂

Jokes aside, I think there are a lot of laptops that work with Ubuntu OOTB 😅

Just not mine. 🤣

It’s never the one I own, it’s always “tons of” other “laptops.”

I even got a Lenovo this time! 😛

I have an E14 Lenovo Thinkpad 😂 working fine with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Naturally. 🙄

I got the P1 Gen 5 when it was new. Paid a mint for it. (Work did actually 😂) I’ve gotten RHEL to work on it decently (if you don’t want sound or Bluetooth), Arch if I’m willing to pull out my ventoy and fix it every time I update, and Ubuntu worked after some fiddling, then updated and wouldn’t boot past grub.

Tbh I can probably get Bluetooth working because the wireless module is replaceable.

Usually I get remarks along the lines of “skill issues” when I vent my frustration - but I literally use Linux everywhere else, and live in the terminal on macOS. I’m not dumb, just unlucky with hardware choices. 😂

You have my full sympathy, you can vent whenever you feel like it here 😂😂

You are a good friend. Same here. Any time.

MacOS is closed source nobody who loves decentralization, bitcoin and the open source model should use it.

Linux works everywhere, you should invest more time on some laptops.
