I just.. ok.

IMO, bitcoin will survive if every western millennial social media influencer disappears from the face of the earth, and all the organizers start driving school buses.

The reason is, they arent bitcoin. they are a subculture centered around bitcoin. bitcoin survives without them. they don’t survive without bitcoin.

Influencers are PR people. PR a la Bernays is a cancer. People deprived of empathy are highly attracted to PR jobs. Don’t expect people with no empathy to change.

It’s not about changing them it’s about cutting them off the supply.

Cynically, I’ll offer that I believe we’re in the final era of “influencer” culture, Bitcoin or otherwise.

Soon, a scant few years, what we experience now as popular ‘crypto’ culture will become passe, gone the way of all yesteryear media culture.

Bitcoin too, as Modern Culture, will eventually die off, and there won’t be influencers and organizers anymore. It’ll just be the Bitcoin Network running on the Bitcoin Token and no one will use those terms. It’ll happen fast, and soon, then become ‘Same old, Same old’. Boring media for people who are old and into investing.

We’re living in the puppy-love of Humanity’s new currency.

It’ll get taken from us in a whirl, our heartfelt dreams and heroes forgotten.

And that’s what we want and look forward to.

Ushering us forward and showing us that it’s not about Hodling, it’s about cherishing this time. This moment in our shared culture.
