As much as I wish it were true, the more likely scenario in my opinion is they are seeing the shift from USD global dominance (which Bitcoiners have been proclaiming for a decade) and looking to capitalize on Bitcoin by stealing the water and shitting in the well.

They constantly stomped on us in the msm while we worked hard to foster a beautiful revolution. Now that the tides are turning, they seek to steal our glory by bastardizing it through the proliferation of paper bitcoin and further enabling the degenerate derivitives market.
