"Modern slavery, indentured servitude."
Yup. Our countries are so great eh?
A couple Filipinos I work with just bought a house for around $700k for 8 (I believe) of them to live in. A couple others are planning to do the same. Currently looking at a new build that's closer to $800k...
WTF
I'm slowly becoming the minority at my job.
Hard to watch, comment, or confront any of it or you're deemed racist.
It's certainly interesting.
Why does every country use its own currency again? Oppression.
I’ve seen this in oz with Vietnamese refugees back in the day. A bunch buy one house all live in it. Pay it off quick by another house and rent it out. Pay this off even quicker. Rinse repeat and before you k is it they all own a house. The compounding effect is massive. They then buy a business and do the same. More power to them. I admire the hard work and building from nothing. We all need to learn from this
No we dont need to learn from this. We have the whole city of Brampton looking like this in Canada. Stuffing as many people as they can in 1 house. 12 cars parked out front. Huge fire hazards. Sanitary issuss. Its wrong and illegal often enough.

Fair comment. Hadn’t considered that
Its a big issue here for sure. They are hard workers though. Hard at working to exploit our system and take advantage of Canadian hand outs from our Liberal government. These people are not here to escape death etc. They are here to benifit themselves while fleeing their country instead of improving it. These are not refugees.
