for example this cutter:

https://www.amazon.com/EZ-Kut-Products-Ratcheting-Lopper/dp/B00P01NIE4?th=1

fails for everybody in exactly the same way. the blade breaks always in the same spot.

you would think at some point the manufacturer would get a clue that there is an issue with blade design but no. that would be like expecting Elon Musk to stop lying or Trump to stop fellating Netanyahu.

this is why i hate how Amazon will group 20 different products together and combine the reviews for them as seen here:

https://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-Ratchet-Trimmer-Capacity-Riveted/dp/B0D88JR7B5?th=1

then you just get the average review rating for all the products and an AI summary of "custumer say" that gives you the average review of 20 different products. that way you won't actually know which of the 20 products have design flaws and which do not.

it is amazing that a company like Amazon can simultaneously be so successful and so retarded.

I hate that product aggregation so much!

You cannot even filter reviews by products from the listing.

What were you cutting?

I have never had this problem

(I buy my garden tools from the local hardware shop instead of Amazon)

those are pictures from Amazon reviews - each picture is from a different customer - i used them to demonstrate what looked like a design flaw, but actually is a feature not a bug

i don't actually need anything this big

i am just trying to prevent family members from using my Felco hand pruners from trying to chop down dead branches. i was trying to tell them to use a saw but who wants to bother with that so they just keep abusing my Felcos so i figured maybe i can get something that is just as convenient but is actually designed for the job then maybe they would lay off my Felco.

i realize this EZ-KUT is ridiculously huge for the kind of branches we have here but i would rather have excess POWA than not enough.

that said i also wanted to get something less overkill, namely:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CRHYTXST

but even though it isn't telescoping or ratcheting it's still almost 5 pounds just like EZ-KUT so i think i need something smaller / lighter

the problem is there really isn't anything between loppers and hand pruners - you go from hand tool straight to like 30" loppers

i will continue researching the options ...
