Here is my take on Ordinals.

Ordinals is just ascribing numbers and letters to sats, and inscriptions is combining these numbers and letters in sequence to form a picture, a program or whatever and stuffing these sats in the witness data.

Ordinals and inscriptions is a social construction. Its just cultural truth eg imagination made real so its also malleable. As John Searl say it can be expressed as "X counts as Y in C" or "getting so many votes counts as a victory in an election". So is the belief that bitcoin "sats count as money in cyberspace".

As with any other cultural phenomenon, it can be accepted and incorporated into our culture. Due to network effect and inertia cultural truth can persist trough generations, but it is in essence just a social construction that people agree upon that can be changed.

bitcoin as money in cyberspace is much more valuable and essential for society than non fungible ordinal inscriptions so i do not see any danger of ordinal inscriptions crowding out bitcoin as money.

People will always play stupid games to win stupid prices. Let them have their fun. There is no way of stopping stupid shit like this anyway.
