I've always wanted a workshop so I could make and fix things without ruining my flat and annoying the wife. Maybe I found the perfect place this morning! πŸŒ…

If you had/have a workshop, what would you make?

Any tips for setup, tools, supplies, layout etc?

Well, I need to bend some hardwood for some exterior trim (boat) thats gone rotten. Somebody told me about a wallpaper steamer and a sealed tube method but space and time in the steamer is my problem plus an area for fibreglassing. I need a workshop too. Good move β›΅πŸ™‚

Wow, that's pretty cool and too advanced for me!

Never actually done it- No space but its really the only choice I have. Think it takes a while. πŸ‘

If I had a workshop, it would be a tech heaven. Soldering station, 3D printer and all that stuff so I could do console mods myself and maybe even make something new with a RasPi Pico and stuff! And maybe even get my own PCB printed to turn my old N-Gage QD into a tiny little bluetooth controller xD.

Sadly I am probably too blind to solder (haven't had the opportunity to give it a shot yet though!) and I don't have the space... But maybe, one day, I might. =)

Have fun with your soon-to-be workshop!

Thanks for the inspiration!

We have a workroom not shop full with 3dprinters, a plotter and what is needed to make shirts.

I'm looking for a new t-shirt supplier...

Supplier? My wife just makes one offs.

If you have ideas.. feel free to contact me.

I wish for a garage, big wooden table and metal one. I love carving and woodworking, but resin and such will soak in the wood. Then I'd get pegboards and hooks on the walls around and started buying sets I'd use.

A good vacuum has been the most used tool.

I would learn how to weld better if i had a workshop.

Do you know if you need expensive equipment for this? I see you can purchase quite affordable welders these days...

I honestly don’t know, the welder I have been using is an old esab, which is a recognised brand. I would definitely try to buy nice things second hand, because you get durable equipment for cheap.

If you want to try welding stick welding is fun and inexpensive. I found that the welding sticks you get at the hardware store for professionals is way better and more value than what you find at the general hardware stores.

Cool, thanks for the info!
