TIKTOK SHUTDOWN

TikTok and CapCut, both owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, have shut down their services in the United States due to a federal ban effective Jan. 19. The companies have been issuing notifications to their U.S. users warning about the unavailability of these platforms.

President-elect Donald Trump has indicated he'll intervene to restore the platforms after he's formally sworn in as the president on Monday Jan. 20
