Does anybody have any recommendations for a dog breed that is good with younger kids?

Wanting to get a puupy for the fam. Have three young kids including a baby.

I'd like a bigger dog personally but not sure if it's good for kids..

We've got a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix and he's SO good with my two kids.

Sheds, though, so that part kinda sucks.

Must be a good mix both those breeds are one of the smartest breeds of dogs. Definitely on the list now!

We had no idea, honesty, but our other dog died (much heartbreak). After a few months a neighbor sent us his pic and we were sold.... I mean just look at him...

Yeah i see puppies like this and feel Iwill go get that puppy right now. Lol but my last dog was a mut (no idea what breed) and kind of wanting to get a bread that I can identify this time so trying to hold back for the right one.

Congrats on your new puppy though! And condolences on the loss of your last dog. I know that can be hard!

Goldendoodle

labradoodle.

Golden retriever.

Poodle.

Wife really wants a poodle but I'm just not sure about the carpet like hair. Is it still soft? How often do we have to trim that?

It has a “wirey” feel. I guess you could compare it to carpet. I understand what you mean. Poodles have hair not fur. So it doesn’t have to be trimmed as often. Every 4-8 weeks.

Very interesting 🤔 they don't shed at all apparently. Might be willing to consider a poodle depending on how much the wife pushes for it. Thanks for the article was informative 👍

You’re welcome! I’m a fan of poodles. Plus they’re smart! Some are trained as guide dogs. Golden doodles, labradoodles are mixed breeds of golden retriever/poodle and Labrador/poodle.

You can also get a “toy” poodle if the kids want a smaller dog.

If you want a dog that’s low maintenance but a smaller dog, beagle is a good option.
