The Scala del Sapere (Palazzo Del Bò in Padua), frescoed in 1941 by Giò Ponti, with the collaboration of Giovanni Dandolo and Fulvio Pendini. The frescoes represent the birth of humanity and knowledge and the development of the sciences through which the student ascends under the guidance of the master. The bright colors of the frescoes and the marble of the steps were chosen to liven up a space almost devoid of natural light.
