I’m coming to terms with the fact that most people are very, very stupid; and it’s not just raw stupidity but mixed with a kind of hubris that makes them blind to anything that asks them to think for themselves. I’m feeling more contempt lately because we are right, and they are smooth brained midwits who are holding everything back.
I’ve been thinking a ton about your recent podcast with Knut on independent vs authoritative thought. I get pushback from family when I try to guide them through examples of independent thought. But they feel discomfort and resist because the ideas are not from an Authority. They are trained to know it’s Wrongthink. 
Yes, we’ve been trained like dogs to quiver and prattle when we have to ask of ourselves what is really truth? Our whole lives we have been taught it’s the right answer (by decree) rather than to question.

It becomes a little easier once you accept this state, and stop putting a lot of energy into trying to change them. Really hard to change a sheep into a dolphin. Why not let them be sheep?
Accepting the inherent futility in trying to actively change others allows us to channel our efforts into other areas, which may be more effective in passively changing others. The smarter of the stupid will at least realize that you may know something of value to them, and ask about it.
I try not to put any energy into contempt, because it doesn't move anything forward. Sometimes I fail, granted. I can definitely be disagreeable and dismissive. Mostly I just try to pick my battles, check my reactions, accept my own weaknesses, and work to improve on them. I try to look at people and situations as opportunities to learn from. I know I can learn a lot from you. I can learn from sheep and snails as well, but the lessons learned may not be as obvious.
I think I'm going to continue to use both for a while longer. I faithfully stuck to "March off Twitter" and missed a ton of good info during the banking failures earlier this year. The good reporting on that sort of stuff isn't on Nostr yet.
Should it matter to me if I miss out on this kind of macro information? As long as I'm still part way in the fiat world mining fiat to save in #Bitcoin I think it does.

I deleted my main account then set up a new one a few days later it’s interesting to start over there again, and also seeing the difference of people who have both and what they choose to post where. As you say, it doesn’t matter. I do enjoy it here much more.
There are still retards here and more will come though, but that’s life.
