2301 years ago today a lightning bolt struck the statue of Jupiter on the Capital, removing his head. The happened after the Romans passed a law removing the prohibition on plebians holding the office of consul. It was taken as a sign that Jupiter opposed plebians being allowed to serve as the head of state, but the new law was not overturned. #Rome #history #grownostr
