While I agree with your statement, I don't think his statement says he isn't financially invested in it. Just says no further investment is being made. Technically we have zero clue if any Bitcoin dev has financial stake in it -- all trust, no verify there.

We've had a couple folks are our weekly meetup that are doing the same thing because of how poorly this was handled. One holds a prominent technical role for one of the larger Bitcoin miners.

I really wish Core would take some ownership of how badly they bungled the social aspect of these changes rather than continuing to be arrogant, condescending pricks at every turn. While its too late here, I'd hope they have some lessons learned for future potentially divisive releases.
