I'm not against restrictions that need to be for legal reasons. In fact, they might even strengthen Nostr, as governments would be less prone to fight it.

Of course, laws change around the world and there would be relays in different countries, so that which one relay won't host another will.

So, for example, relays who are DMCA compliant?

The DMCA is a US law. I see no issue with a US-based relay (which not all relays are) complying with US law, instead of being taken down.

I'd rather see the few illegal posts get taken down than the whole relay (and therefore that post, but with every other legitimate post with it, too).

The government has guns. Nostr is a solution to *corporate* censorship, not gun-based censorship.
