Is it better than searx? Searx always has problems and gets blacklisted from search engines
It's just a fork of the original searx mainly with a better UI. In that sense it's better. I used to host a public instance, and that definitely did get blacklisted all the time, but I haven't run into that problem hosting just a private instance for myself.
