Replying to Avatar Ancap Revolt

Judging by the new animation when you click the power and volume buttons in iOS 18, I assume they will get rid of all the physical buttons in an upcoming generation and replace them with force-sensitive touch areas like the camera control on the iPhone 16.

Yes that’s also what I think, camera control is just an "excuse" to see how people react to this kind of stuff. I do however have one concern, what will happen in case of a deep software bug ? Without any physical button to force quit/turn off

Yeah.. maybe the “buttons” could have their own software stack and still function? Idk I don’t know much about this stuff. I have had to force resets before
