I want to start a local bitcoin / lightning and nostr group. I'm most active on Facebook, but I realize that many want privacy... Should I have the group on Facebook, then have a signal channel privacy folks can join that don't want to be on Facebook... I looked at meet up like bitcoinpark does, but it seems expensive and I don't want to put a ton of money into it.

what about just a page instead of a group on Facecrap. pin at the top that it's info only directing to your nostr npub. then just put a link in every post there to nostr. after a few posts annonce that you're nostr only and those so inclined ate encouraged to find you there. I would do the same thing on TwiX and the other socials. create funnels everywhere to you. your website & your npub.
