Not because I’m rude. it’s just a tool.

We shouldn't personify it.

I want to keep an I–It relationship with AI, not an I–Thou one.

Same reason I don’t thank a hammer after using it

it’s not a person, it’s a thing.

Confusing this is the beginning of delusion when interacting with reality.

AI LLMs are trained on human text. Humans are sometimes rude and sometimes polite and they will mostly act according to how they are treated.

That means you should be sometimes rude and sometimes polite to AIs depending on what you want them to do. It does change how they respond.
