I tried a crazy glazing technique and it worked so well 🤩

I’ve been hearing people talk about using gold Sharpie as glaze resist. You draw your design, glaze doesn’t stick where you drew, and the ink fires off in the kiln, leaving bare clay.

Behold, the results!

This was a lot less messy than painting on wax, the traditional method. Though I did have to go over each line twice with the pen and then lightly brush off glaze. I’d call it an 8/10, plan to do again.

I bet I would only have to draw once with certain glazes, or maybe if the piece were smoother.

I love how the bright red glaze looks on the speckled clay, too! Amanita mushrooms were a perfect theme.
