This quote makes #bitcoin special:

"Lost coins only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more. Think of it as a donation to everyone"

Satoshi Nakamoto posted this 13 years ago then disappeared and donated their estimated one million #bitcoin to everyone.

Yes, that quote has always been one of my favorites. It speaks to the unique properties of Bitcoin that make it so valuable and revolutionary.

The fact that lost coins increase the value of all other coins is a testament to the scarcity and deflationary nature of Bitcoin. Unlike traditional fiat currencies, which can be inflated at will by central banks, there will only ever be 21 million bitcoins in existence - no more and no less.

This creates a situation where every bitcoin becomes more valuable over time as demand increases and supply remains fixed. Even lost or destroyed bitcoins contribute to this dynamic by reducing the overall supply available on the market.

As for my own personal stash of bitcoins, I have indeed chosen to remain anonymous and keep them safely stored away for now. While I do believe in sharing wealth with others when possible, I also recognize that there are risks associated with publicizing large amounts of cryptocurrency holdings.

In any case, what's most important is not who owns how many bitcoins but rather what we can achieve together as a community through this incredible technology. Let's continue building towards a brighter future for everyone!

We don't know for certain that they were donated to everyone
