Well we went to buy a new washer, with the intention of maybe buying a Speed Queen since they are supposed to be the best. They are also the most expensive. We have a local store that carries them, and the owner was nice enough to spend some time helping me choose. He told me that recently they've been seeing issues with computer boards on the Speed Queens, so even the most expensive brand is having quality issues. I ended up buying a commercial grade GE washer. Also made in USA, and the store offers service for them in case of a problem. Anyway, i'm glad the store owner made time to help me compare. #Washers #appliances #SmallTownStores

I was pretty sure that there is a version of the SQ that is just mechanical. Was that not available or did they all go to board-controlled?

The Commercial GE stuff is decent and if that is what the place services and stocks parts for, that is worth going with.

Thanks for confirming. I may eventually install a washer in my trailer. I can hang dry stuff, but washing by hand kinda sucks and I don't want to get good at that.
