Days with almost no me time or even a usual calm down phase have been a real challenge for me lately. I’m willing to push through for the sake of my goals, but getting used to this is tough. I just have to put up with it. Next year, it’s going to double and its such an important investment of time and energy for my future.

My dear nostriches, how do you stay present, whats your attitude on such extremely busy days?

Returning to the breath as often as possible. 🧘‍♀️ 😌

Keeps one foot in “being” and one foot in “doing” 😉

I love this metaphor! Thank you 🫂🧘‍♀️

Im sure you are aware of Eckart Tolle.

I get so much out of listening and reading the “clear signal” from his work….🙏🏻😌

God Bless you sister 💓

Breathe.

And god.

I don’t think about myself or my feelings and I just do, time passes anyways, works every time 🤙

I embrace busy days. Being productive is good. As long as you are propelling yourself to greater heights there is nothing wrong with having a high work load.

If you are busy and you like what you are doing it is fine.

If you are busy because you invest on something, it is fine too.

If you are busy by doing something you hate and there is no investment on it, then you will have to plan as calmly as possible, to move on by doing something else or in a different way.

Since you do something to fullfil your goals, you keep on and try to improve. Sometimes improvement means less time to do something. Organising stuff might save time too.

I have different jobs than you, but I still think it's important to put my physical and mental health first. Even if I not feel like I don't HAVE time, I must CARVE OUT time. I purposely don't start my office hours until 9, so I use the time between 7-ish and 9 to leisurely get ready. I wash, dress, eat a proper breakfast and do my chores, and then when the workday starts, I'm already ready. I take a walk and don't have my first coffee until midmorning (in the summer, I take my walk early before the sun starts being merciless), and I do my chores once I get back. My phone is silent except for deliveries and calls. I check messages a few times per day, not more than 4-5. Letting anyone else interrupt flow shoots my stress level up. You're in control of your day.

When I was in my late 20s, I started my own web building business lived the opposite of this and let everyone and everything dictate my hours, my time, and my feelings. But I was younger and hungry (and with youth comes resilience). Too old for that now 😅

thank you so much for sharing something from your life!!! I appreciate your routine.

lately I am truly realizing what carving out time really means!

i live what you lived in your late 20s :D

love the mornings and morning walks, a good morning routine is key! 🙏🏼

You're welcome, and sounds like you'll be just fine!

busy days are a rush

lately i have had such a day and i called it a "nobody can stop the music" day, but it wasn't from outside influence, i was just on fire... but even when it is a constant onslaught from outside, you are still on fire, and that is the joy of it

if you feel like you need to have a day off, now wolud be a good time to say this to whoever needs to be ok with that

I know the feeling. Everything will be fine, in the end, though. The first few years after I was discharged were very frenetic, to say the least (having two infants crying all the time, work, daily commutes, business trips, doctors appointments, arguing😅, cooking, family holidays etc). My late wife and I were constantly trying to find some alone time where we didn't feel like zombies lol.

I like busy days a lot more then I used to. Why? Because, since my kids don't get out of school till mid-afternoon, I have much more free time now. And since I don't work anymore, I've been more careful with how I use that time. Short periods of meditation (10-15 minutes or so) throughout the day and a healthy diet and exercise routine have helped me a lot over the past 13 years. I also like to cook at random times🤷😁. I find it very relaxing.

I’ve been going through this over the last few months with work Some long stressful days, and a lot of late night work.

On these types of busy days I will usually just focus on the tasks that need to be done, put aside any that aren’t essential to be done on that day and try to work steadily through them. I always will try to find some time to stop and go out for a walk. I find that helps to clear my mind and I can come back and work more efficiently. I’ve also been prioritising getting a good night of sleep on the days I’m not working late at night and taking some days off regularly to get some me time (I’m fairly lucky that work is flexible with that).

Like you say, these things can be an investment in your future so it is also helpful to remember why you are doing them in the first place and look at the longer term view.

have you started "heilpraktiker school"?
