Sounds pretty good. I don't trust devices with secure elements. So I would definitely use a passphrase with the device. Back it up. Confirm my backup. Then wipe it.
I'm assuming that wiping the device also wipes any saved data in the so-called secure element. I don't know. I use a Trezor Model T that doesn't have a secure element. Then I wipe it for cold storage.

Yes, I use a high entropy passphrase. 256 bits or better. An easy secure way to create a high entropy passphrase\password is with one of the keepass clients.
I like keepass2android for Android. Mine is optimized and hardened. Also as you know. Don't store your seed and passphrase together. If you lose either one though, you're screwed. And don't store your seed words online etc..👍🧡😊
