Softwar's theories are not applicable in all circumstances. But I think they should be considered. They are very interesting and if nothing else may lead to new parallel innovations.
Cyberspace was one of them.

Agreed. PoW is a viable alternative but it becomes opportunity cost against Bitcoin mining. At least currently.
