I've got JFK and the Unspeakable by James Douglass, a Catholic theologian. He took 12 years to write this. Its narrows down to the days leading to his death and how much he pushed for peace, and the reaction of CIA. Leaves you goosebump-ish

i was not expecting the ending to go that way either esp when the book felt like it was his journey of finding his way back to her. i think they have a movie on this too.
