This app is pretty neat, but then I logged onto a web app for Nostr and it told me my Damus provided url is invalid and wanted me to pay 50k sats to buy a new one

I'm guessing you entered your Nostr public key into the Nostr address field and Snort said it was invalid. Which that would be. You need to enter in a Nostr address into that field that you own. It's like an email address. You can host your own or buy one from a provider. It's a bit technical... But some apps set them up for your automatically. Give https://primal.net a try for your next web app. But also look into more what Nostr can do beyond Twitter alternatives. Check out https://Nostrapps.com

I think you’re referring to a nip-05 address. I don’t think Damus provides Nip-05 addresses, so it’s likely you did actually put in something that isn’t a Nip-05 address. You can set one up on your own domain which is better than paying for one on someone else’s domain.
