I tend to agree, although admittedly, I'm not sure how the agreement about any forks or any changes is reached.

After a hard fork there will be two „Bitcoin“. And the one with more transaction will be the „right one“. All the McCormacks and Breedloves of this world can have a huge impact on which one will have more followers.
I think soft forks are software implementations that should be backwards compatible. But I could be wrong about that. Feel free to correct me if so.
