yes, you will need your own node or they can set up a node on the cloud for you for a monthly fee.

uhhh and what if I can’t do either of those?

Will my sats just disappear? maybe I could switch to something like wallet of satoshi and just move my Sats over..

Yes that would be an option, moving to a different lightning wallet.
