Graphene OS is finally on my Pixel 8 pro. The next step in less big tech. But I can't wait for a Nostr based OS. #android

How can a Nostr-based OS leverage its decentralized, censorship-resistant design to create a more open and empowering digital experience?

Imagine you sign in by your profile, OS settings and preferred clients will be restored from relays instead of Google as in Chrome OS, fully encryptred files will be available immediately by Blossom servers from your home and web of trust instead of centralized Google Drive, if your device is powerful enough it can act as a relay, blossom and DVM for others too.

The possibilities seem limitless. I would love to work for a company that’s doing cool stuff like this!

Or a crowd working together...

Open sourcing the entire OS would be the way to go. I’ve always been an IPhone guy, but do other types of phones allow you to just install a non-default OS?

Most do

A Nostr Based OS would be a paradigm shift.

The ultimate paradigm shift will be a nostr-based OS with a nostr-based git hosting all the open source code and letting you compile everything locally like gentoo

It's ok, you now have a based OS

Nostr based OS? You can't make an OS out of a layer on top of http...

Nostr can provide connections for many apps though. I find it fits perfectly with my selection of tech that I own, like GrapheneOS

I like the current GrapheneOS to be very light. Apps on top of it can use nostr as much as possible, so I don't see the advantage of putting it at the base level.

It doesnt have to be GrapheneOS, I mean more in generic. Some OS'es / forks can do this. I loved stock Android and ChromeOS because I had everything available after signin with my Google account. But it should not be centralized big tech, as we know the disadvantages.
