WBTC is a horrible abomination that needs to stop.
It’s bitcoin that’s custodied by BitGo, issued on the Ethereum blockchain to allow users to create smart contracts and do DeFi stuff.
Currently, 162.7k BTC is locked through this trust-maximized and censorship-guaranteed system. Which is more BTC that exists on Liquid, Lightning and RSK combined.
