I’m obsessed with how out of touch podcasters and other Internet personalities can sound. They seem oblivious to the human experience sometimes.
It reminds me of Hollywood celebrities and the corporate press.

“But I’m an influencer!”
It is all just one big influencer farce show

When people experience some success, people start to treat you differently.
Its hard to not let your success from the past cloud your judgement on other things you know less about.
Celebrities are notorious for this.
🧡👊🏻🍻
I am guilty of this myself sometimes. The first time I really noticed it was during the lockdowns. It didn’t have the same impact on me because I live on a farm and could still be outside and do whatever. I was happy posting and it seemed out of touch.
I think the cure for being out of touch is to log offline and to surround yourself with different types of people. Then listen more than you talk. I’m open to others suggestions if you folks have any.

People with 50 coins can’t even imagine what it’s like to get into bitcoin today. They come off as elitist.
Ego test of another level
Our guts know. In my modest, new endeavor, I'm refusing to play those games, even at the expense of better metrics.
some are good at smelling their own farts
At this point podcasters are the new corporate press.
This has always been a connundum for me. On one hand, I think it would be useful to increase the exposure of some of my ideas. On the other hand, I've seen what this does to people - especially in the current Podcast Bro culture that relies heavily on cross-promotion.
People who go around saying "Oh, I'll never be like that" are rarely being realistic. My observation on other areas of my own life is that these things really sneak up on you, and everyone tends to attract people that will reinforce the negative aspects. We all like to be liked, and it can be difficult to keep people who are eagerly trying to support you in a bad or mixed way at arm's length. Especially when they have a lot to offer in the material and / or emotional and / or friendship sense.
I'm becoming much more aggressive with defining boundaries and getting rid of people who take me in bad directions or otherwise bring me down, but I dislike doing it and the more people get pulled into your sphere the more you have to do it.
And now I realized I kind of sound like a whiny bitch, but it's still tough.
🤔🤔🤔🤨😅
There is no single human experience.
When you recognise that you exist in your own reality, that may or may be partially shared by others you can relax.
Influencers are popular for expressing a version of reality that is common. They're not influencing so much as mirroring what people already feel.
As a podcaster myself, I know what this can feel like.
In my case, however, I try to be authentically myself as best as I can be.
