Cool story.

I had a couple failed Dell computers in a row, which is why I started building my own and they lasted way longer.

At an engineering division I used to run, we built our own computers too, and routinely replaced individual parts as needed.

Nobody should compete with Dell for the mass market but if someone wants custom specs and a longer lifetime, custom works well.
