+1. Also democracy from 400BC was always controlled by the rich, slow change to Rousseau’s Social Contract in 18 century integrating direct voices into the US charter 20th century but still too many bureaucratic layers, hits and misses. The beatnik rise was to shift the control of high income group to the working class over 3 decades from the 50’s , but the fastest it took for Ppl to directly voice out to the leaders of the country, and force bad policies to be overturned would be the Social Media era. Twitter’s been ard for 15 yrs, still a baby, compared to the past centuries but faced hiccups on separating the good and bad of capitalism and suppression. Nostr would be the one level up removing that suppression.
Also lots of other use cases. Damus founder Will suggested advertisers directly paying content creators - which removes ad control over devs and more builds eg market place for creative producers and continuous improvements of contents creation in a fair open market. Another on is sms integration for areas that lack internet infrastructure (sea cables or satellite internets) or based on needs/ preference. Also trade and commerce (real goods not NFTs) would be epic - perhaps a bridge between Nostr and web5 ? For now, anyone can sell something on Nostr for sats with tipping and zaps in place - no pain of foreign currency exchange, traditional banking challenges etc. I want to look into helping small manufactures globally to reduce supply dependency on hegemony countries. One of my fav perspective on adopting Bitcoin as functioning currency is @npub1sfhflz2msx45rfzjyf5tyj0x35pv4qtq3hh4v2jf8nhrtl79cavsl2ymqt’s writings.
Also Jack’s Tidal is an interesting social experiment to watch out for - whether on Nostr or not, it maximises perks for creative contributors, captures the good of capitalism yet remains decentralised. Ideally it would be the best of a few eras summed up.
You might also see a shift on how user adoption influences the growth of communication - right now relays are based on accessibility and spams but this can also shift based on interest, communities, or influencers - everything that has happened over the past century is on fast forward in Nostr and it’s just super exciting watch everything happen
