NEVER buy inkjet.
ONLY buy laser.
Laser sits forever and never dries out. Spins up easily. No liquid gumming functionality. I ran a Brother black-only unit for 15.5 years before finally retiring it for a color laser. I use mainly black only for documents but occasional color usage. I keep two black refills on hand and one color refill set. Cost is just a little more up front, but life is good with laser and it’s cheaper in the long run for sure. Works better, works longer, looks better, makes life better.
that's why I went to toner! doesn't dry out. I also rarely need colour.
I'd probably go laser next round.
