Not seeing the ‘real’ newcomers as much due to using the nostr.wine paid filter relay 🤷♂️💜
Loved helping them out, but it comes at the cost of filtering through all the spam now, if I were to remove the relay 💜🤷♂️

Yup, depends on clients too. Damus can also choose which relays enabled for global feed right?
Two free public relay that probably a bit safer (lesser spam than other free public relay) are nostr.mom and nos.lol . They have some spam filter (nostr.mom has more strict spam filter). New users seems come from both of them usually. I've enabled them for global feed 😅
