So far, our team has managed to scrape together a grand total of three people who are willing and able to read and write code for our FOSS project.

It's the same three we started with.

Doin better than most. Congrats. Wen Alpha. Where do i report a bug?

😂 We're just publishing low-level libraries and working on webservers and stuff, so far.

I think people are overwhelmed by the scope of the task. We've had 6 others come, stare, go radio-silent, and slink off.

lol, you may have to pitch a minimum viable product that solves for particular common case then kinda guide the newbs into the full vision once you got them to a level of familiarity. Have fun!

In one case, I literally drew a two-page activity diagram, documenting aaaaalllll of the logic, setup the repo and created some boilerplate and defined the core classes and showed him a completed OS program that does something similar...

Couldn't even get him to pull the repo. Couldn't possibly have prechewed it, anymore.

In college, they give me five sentences and five days and basta.

Yah well . . . unfortunately the answer is in the bell curve. Only so much talent, character and time available for FOSS. May have to break into little pieces with well defined scope with lots of little wins and rest breaks. I have actually paid frens out of pocket to code specific bits that were in their specialty wheelhouse rather than ask community. Submitted it myself and moved on. Was just quicker and guaranteed good code, plus he gave me the buddy discount. Million ways to skin a cat.

What project? Would love to check it out

No, you wouldn't. It's not a finished product yet.

Lolz

Well, we keep showing it to people and they're like, But were do I click?

Umm... It's not that sort of project. It's a low-level library.

Clicky stuff is later.

Neither are most of the products I am interested in

FOSS? I thought you were building a POSS project. :((

Probably something freemium.

Love to hear it. :)
