Maybe the point you are making, and I originally misunderstood, is that personality tests are not really that useful to describe a person in general, not even personality, just some aspects of it.

Same goes for BMI, IQ, there's much more to people than numbers, which is often forgotten.

Most work with the participant answering questions about themselves, correct?

It’s a comment on how one perspective can only show so much, pretty sure statisticians would agree with me. Not that it can be revealing of something, just there’s a lot of bias that’s going to bleed through into the results
