Is voice command not a thing with #GrapheneOS?

I am really missing ability to voice type text response or press a button and just say "schedule an alarm" or "schedule a meeting" and have it be done...

Also, there is a microphone on my keyboard and it gives me "voice input is not available right now" everytime.

You can install other keyboards that will give you access to talk and text

Also go into your keyboard's permissions and see if microphone nis enabled

Good suggestion. I am mostly using Gboard and I just checked microphone is allowed. But here I am typing this and I can't voice dictate it.

Gboard requires "Speech Recognition and Synthesis"

with that installed you should get it as an option in Settings -> Languages -> Voice Input

Voice commands are a Google service. Maybe someone will make one now that we have embeddable AI. For a voice keyboard, install FUTO keyboard.

Hey

I think there are three options

Transcibro (on Accrescent)

Sayboard (Github)

or Gboard with googles voice recognition thingy

Transcribo seems to work fairly well https://github.com/soupslurpr/Transcribro

mostly ok

but its always adding "thank you" to the end of text

So the solution is to use Graphene OS with Google products? 🤮

If you use Gboard, on GrapheneOS you can prevent it from accessing the network.

But yeah, would suggest trying Sayboard first.

Whisper keyboard works but needs some improvement

Oh my goodness, thank you everyone who chimed in to suggest a solution. I am feeling a little overwhelmed and out of bandwidth for today to dive into all the suggestions and go down technical rabbit holes. So I will probably review and read through everything tomorrow and see if I can implement something that bring a positive outcome. But I just wanted to come on here and say I am so truly grateful for you! ☺️🙏🏻🫂
