I have some apple and basswood sticks rooting in perlite. I used rooting hormone because I happened to find it at the store. Next time I want to use a darker medium so I can see the roots or put them directly in tree pots. I have more apple sticks kept damp in a bag in the refrigerator. These will be put directly in the ground. Many of them came from a disc golf course in a city park that the town was not trimming. I like the green tart apples it produced.
