I have no dog in this fight but I do think there’s a unit bias problem that keeps pushing normies to shitcoins because people like whole numbers.

Understand that argument. It lowers the bar to entry for “Bitcoin”.
Language changes happen spontaneously, much like a mutation. Takes a significant amount of time for it to come into common parlance. Every generation unconsciously tries with slang. Few, if any, ever succeed over the long horizon.
I am all for better onboarding for newcoiners. I don’t think language will fix that problem short term, and long term can just as easily be solved by the existing unit of sats.
