Usually it’s the inverse. Men who get married or enter into a relationship notice that all kinds of women suddenly are interested in them. It’s because being in a relationship is a social signal to woman that this is a valuable man.

I never understood why men would want a woman that has been around though. My guess is, at least with celebrities, that it boosts their status. Law of scarcity.
