Nostr is actually extremely niche. It’s more like the experience of a non believer going to a radical fringe religious church for the first time. Full of strange words and lingo, in groups, extreme views, us and them distinctions, only we have the truth discourse, myopic faith claims, save the world ambitions, conversion stories and people arguing foundational texts and implied meaning. I actually think it’s more like a shit show.

...and yet it still feels better than the others. I've tried them all. Nostr feels like a step forward. Lacks content beyond BTC atm, but that's our job isn't it?
Yes. I visited threads earlier today and it felt dirty within minutes. Nostr is refreshing but it suffers from some of the negative aspects of human nature just like the other platforms. My guess is that will increase as people come. It takes a lot of genuine interaction to either find like minded people or trusted spaces that allow discourse without derision.
True...and a truly uncensored platform will project the worse in us, but that's why you mute and move on. Follow kindred souls. Tailor your feed to your liking. Everything with mass acceptance is a shit show.
