A ilha das cobras, no litoral norte de São Paulo, é conhecida por estar infestada de serpentes que não se sabe ao certo como elas chegaram lá. Não há predadores naturais para as serpentes e é dito que seu veneno mata alguém em poucos minutos.

O governo proíbe entrada de civis sem licença para pesquisas. Apenas pescadores e mergulhadores ficam ao redor da ilha.

O governo também proíbe que seja pregado o crucifixo no único farol da ilha.

Pois, o amigo Miles Routledge, um católico britânico com espírito de aventura, quis enfrentar esses desafios.

Vir ao Brasil sem falar Português e tendo de lidar com estranhos seria muito desafiador. Então fomos juntos nessa jornada.

E pela fé, para colocarmos o crucifixo no farol.

Snake island, in northern São Paulo coast, is known for being infested with snakes and nobody knows how they got there. There is no natural predators to them anywhere and their poison is said to kill a person in a few minutes.

The government forbids entrance if you are not a researcher. Only fishing and diving around the island are allowed for tourists.

The government also forbids crucifix to be placed at the lighthouse.

Miles Routledge is a friend; a Catholic british man with a sense for adventure. He wanted to challenge those prohibitions.

So we did this together.

Coming to Brasil without speaking portuguese and dealing with strangers would be too much a risk. So I volunteered and we went there together.

This was our journey.
