Yes, exactly like that!! You can build them yourself for like $7, which I find a waste of time and glue.
Are you cutting out the valve & using the bulkhead connector with out the valve?
No, though the photo you sent is unlike our totes here. Usually they are cam (to which you would connect a cam to hose adapter) or have a threaded connection i would use to connect to the bulkhead thus making it adaptable to most residential applications.
