I don't know who needs to hear this but Malaria is spread by female anopheline mosquito. It is primarily distributed in tropical climates with plenty of stagnant water, where the parasite-carrying mosquito vector breeds.

Water collecting was banned in the US because rain water doesn't contain sulphur and other shit. You can collect all the water you want. Unless you also breed mosquitos or, Gates sends you a bunch of his mosquitos, you'll be fine.
