I’m getting at the juxtaposition of
1: using a web app that saves preferences or last check notification in the cache, which is fine, but when you clear the cache it loose your preferences.
2: nip 78 - that sends a note to a relay, so you can freely clear the cache or go to a different browser, and your preferences get pulled back down. There are multiple layers to why this isn’t preferable. The shallow being it lacks granularity with a signing extension because it’s all one kind, but preferences (infrequently changed) and the last time you check notifications (relatively frequently) are different.
I don’t really have a problem with the first one, it’s probably preferable to offer a download file of preferences to move browsers. It’s just funny to me that I bark about both.
